Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue - the meaning of wedding traditions
The classic “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a Lucky Sixpence in your Shoe.” Where do they come from and what do they mean!
The Something Old- It could be a piece of her grandmother’s jewelry, or even the your mother's wedding dress. This is a link of continuity from the bride's past. Some say this is a desire to remain connected with your family even after you established a family of your own. Other sources say it represents the life you are leaving behind. Another idea is that the tradition of family values and the connection family brings is being passed down to you.
The Something New - For many brides the wedding gown is the “new” item. This usually means optimism and hope for the future
The Borrowed Item - a reminder that the bride will always have the support of friends and family. Sources have said it is symbolizes the love and adoration you have for the person from whom you have borrowed the item from.
The Something Blue - connected to weddings for centuries as a symbol of love, modesty, fidelity, good luck, purity and loyalty.
Sixpence in your shoe - It represents financial security for the couple. For optimum fortune, the sixpence should be worn in the left shoe!

They will be very useful as most stores now do not
provide bags when you purchase their products!
Have a special recipe for cookies or muffins, why not share it with your guests!
Very unique idea, why not have a photo booth at your recieving line!
Have your guests take one strip of pictures for themselves as favors and have them place another strip in a guest book, let them write some thoughfull words and it is a great memory keeper of your wedding day. courtesy of http://www.snapzphotobooth.ca/

Greys were used in 2010 and they will more than likely keep emerging into 2011.
